What should I expect?

The first session or two is for intake and treatment planning. You’ll share your story and what brings you to counseling. We’ll talk about your struggles, symptoms and goals for therapy.
Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan based on your goals and what will work best for you.
After the initial sessions, our work will focus on the treatment plan and meeting your goals. Please call for a 15-minute consultation to learn more about what you can expect.
How much are sessions?
$145 for a 50-minute session. Sliding scale can be discussed.
Cash, checks, health savings accounts (HSAs), Visa and Master Card are accepted. You can keep a credit card on file in the Client Portal.

Good Faith Estimate Notice
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Can I use my insurance?
My practice is not contracted with any insurance providers. Insurance companies typically require documentation around diagnoses and updates on your progress. Insurance companies may also limit the number of sessions covered. Private pay affords clients more privacy as their mental health record is kept separate from their medical and insurance records. Also, not all clients meet the criteria for a mental health diagnosis.
You can ask for a super bill at the time of service to submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement. Note that health savings accounts (HSAs) can be used for payment.
What is the cancellation policy?
To cancel, please call 480.933.0333 at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. No shows and cancellations not made 24 hours ahead of time will result in a full session charge.
